You will need-

1 litre water

2 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoon cloves, pounded

1 piece cinnamon, about 2-inches in length

4 to 5 green cardamom pods

1 tablespoon ginger

1 handful tulsi or holy basil

1 tablespoon honey, or less as per taste

Preparation method-

  1. Pour 1 liter water into a heavy saucepan over high heat. Add all the kadha ingredients and bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered till reduce to half the quantity, about 500 ml. Remove from heat and add honey.

  3. Drink this concoction 2-3 times a day.
